Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing launches i20 N Rally2 European Challenge

Hyundai Motorsport will support i20 N Rally2 customers in five national rally championships around Europe with the i20 N Rally2 European Challenge
Starting with this weekend’s Rally von Haspengouw in Belgium, the initiative will provide an extra reward to drivers with an i20 N Rally2 finishing in the top three overall
The i20 N Rally2 European Challenge extends Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing’s commitment to supporting customers in national and regional series.


February 20, 2024 – Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing will support i20 N Rally2 customers in national rally championships this season with the i20 N Rally2 European Challenge. This brand-new initiative - open to all i20 N Rally2 customers - is planned to include 15 events across five different national series – Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Poland and Slovenia.

Any i20 N Rally2 customer finishing in the top three of the overall standings in eligible events will gain credit for spare parts from Hyundai Motorsport, with competitors free to enter as many of the selected events as they wish.
Currently, all seven events of the Belgian Rally Championship are included, starting with this weekend’s Rally van Haspengouw and finishing with the Spa Rally in November. In Germany, the extra rewards will be on offer at Rallye Sulingen in May and the Saarland-Pfalz Rallye the following month. April’s Severn Valley Stages and the Rali Ceredigion are selected from the British Rally Championship calendar, Rajd Świdnicki and Rajd Rzeszowski in Poland and Rally Vipavska dolina and Rally Dolina zelenega zlata from the schedule of the Slovenian championship.

Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing Manager Benoît Nogier said: “Introducing the i20 N Rally2 European Challenge for this season is new way for the Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing department to support our customers. By offering prizes for podium finishes, the aim is to motivate high-level teams and drivers to join events and encourage them to show the full potential of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 at every event. We have selected key events from national series, many where Hyundai Motorsport customers have been strong, with the intention to support them as they build on the foundation they already have in the championships”.

i20 N Rally2 set for start of national seasons
As well as the Belgian championship, this weekend will also host the opening round of the Portuguese Rally Championship at the Rali Serras de Fafe - Felgueiras - Boticas e Cabeceiras de Basto. Their field will be led by two i20 N Rally2 entered by Team Hyundai Portugal for reigning national champion Ricardo Teodósio and Kris Meeke, who scored four overall wins during his first season with the team.
Hyundai Motorsport customers will also be well represented in national competition in France. After finishing fifth in the country’s Tarmac Rally Championship in both 2022 and 2023, Hugo Margaillan will drive an i20 N Rally2 prepared by the experienced championship winning CHL Sport Auto squad. As the number of Hyundai Motorsport customers continues to increase, this will be the first year for both the driver and the team with the i20 N Rally2. Margaillan will be joined on the stages by experienced driver Eric Camilli, who will also make his i20 N Rally2 debut in a 2C Competition-prepared entry.
