Dear all,
primary we are doing this rallysport for the crews and especially for the spectators. And every spectator, if he look into the entry list, they need to see the biggest names on the top. This names are the most important for them to decide if they will come or not. With this formula it was working for last 47 years and there were no problems with it. And until last year, nobody was asking us to make such changes in entry list. And now FIA/Eurosport officials have problems with it... If you will be in real contact with the spectators, fans, but also experts, they will confirm that it is not the best way to do the starting numbers only according to current standings in championship. It was very strange to see winning Magalhaes with number 22 on Azores 2017, to see fighting for podium this year on same event Sousa with number 31 or Herczig with number 24 (who as 4x hungarian champion was shocked with so high number). Similar situation was in Rome, nobody really understand why local hero Andreucci, biggest ace for everyone not only in Italy, has number 20. And second overall Basso had number 24. This is not circuit racing, this is rallysport where the best drivers had always the biggest numbers. For normal spectators this looks like disrespect to the heroes...
Please, dont make changes and follow the respect to the organiser of the rally, we know what we are doing...
