Filip Mareš odstoupil kvůli dvojitému defektu.

Rally Sanremo vyhrál Craig Breen, který byl nejrychlejší po součtu všech RZ. V rámci týmové strategie si nechal dát 10 vteřín pozdní v ČK 8A, aby vyhrál kolega Andrea Crugnola a získal tak plné body do italského mistráku. Kvůli zácpě před ČK 8A se však rozhodl ředitel soutěže všechny penalizace v ČK 8A zrušit.

Craig Breen se po dlouhých letech vrátil na Sicílii, na závod Targa Florio. I díky technickým problémům nakonec o necelé tři vteřiny prohrál s Bassem, neopomněl ani navštívit místo dávné tragéfie.

I tried..
I tried and unfortunately for reasons out of my
control, victory was taken out of my hands at the last moment. We had a technical problem on the first stage out of service for the last time and dropped a critical 3 seconds. We managed to fix the car for the last stage but it wasn’t enough.
It hurts, it really hurts, but the same way destiny took it’s path 9 years ago, it chose it’s path yesterday also.
From a sporting side I have to say thanks to the team and everyone involved in making this weekend happen. Also to my co-driver Louis for doing a great job under very difficult conditions.
From me personally, thank you to all the fans that wrote and sent me so many hundreds and hundreds of messages during the week, maybe destiny preferred if I do win this rally, I can celebrate amongst you all. Thanks to my family and friends that helped me through one of the most emotional weeks of my life.
This morning before leaving I went back there, and celebrated with Jaffa. I left my trophy, but made sure there is space there for the winners trophy when I will come back, I will do it.
